JACKSON CENTER — The 2021-2022 school year was a welcome return to normalcy for Jackson Center Schools and most schools in the state of Ohio.

“After shutting down in the spring of 2020 and trying to wade through the ever changing Covid guidelines, it was nice to be back to a normal academic and athletic calendar,” said Superintendent Bill Reichert. “We were able to bring back most of the programs and initiatives from the previous years and able to reinstitute most of the field trips, ball games and performances. I have told many people over the years that our kids are very blessed to grow up in West Central Ohio because in comparison, so many students across the state and the country are still dealing with various restrictions that impede their growth.”

His report continues:

During the 2021-22 school year, the teachers, parents and students of Jackson Center Schools were able to produce one of the best overall academic reports in our area and in the state. It is no secret that West Central Ohio continues to succeed academically and all the schools are very competitive in every aspect of student life so achieving high marks in this area is quite an achievement. During the 2021-22 school year, the new state report card shifted to using stars (out of 5) instead of letter grades and below is a synopsis of those marks for Jackson Center.

We are very proud of our students and the help that our teachers and their parents provide towards reaching academic excellence, but the state report card only tells a small part of the story. We could not be more excited about the impact our students make in our community when participating on their athletic teams, in their service organizations, in their cultural arts programs and in general creating a positive and welcoming environment at school each day.

As we go forward, it will be the goal of Jackson Center Schools to provide a pathway for our students to continue to grow, learn and most importantly, become the next generation of people willing to work and help others.
