ANNA — The Anna High School Drama Club will present Anna’s 55nd musical production, “The Sound of Music” on March 10, 11 and 12.

This musical has the rare combination of a powerful and moving story, and a first rate musical score from Rodgers and Hammerstein. “The Sound of Music” tells the story of Maria, who takes a job as governess to a large family while she decides whether to become a nun. She falls in love with the children and their widowed father, Captain von Trapp. He is ordered to accept a commission in the German navy, but he opposes the Nazis. He and Maria decide to flee from Austria with the children.

With songs like “Do Re Me,” “Edelweiss,” “My Favorite Things” and “Sound of Music,” the audience will be humming the tunes for weeks.

Performances are on Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 12, at 2 p.m. All tickets are $10 ticket. Visit anna.seatyourself.biz or visit the Anna High School office to purchase tickets.
