Her unique gouache paintings on black paper, and lifelike museum-quality sculptures, recreate Ohio’s plants, animals and environments that are often underappreciated. Burke’s goal is to foster a curiosity and appreciation for the nature we find in our own backyards and beyond. She will also have a selection of giclee prints, magnets, vinyl stickers, postcards and woven throws in the Nature Shop at BNC. A portion of all sales will support BNC’s mission of wildlife conservation. Burke’s art will be on exhibit through March 19, 2023.

• Animal tails, bird watching and spiders are just a few topics your preschooler will learn about in the next session of PEEP! Preschoolers meet once a week for six weeks and will discover a different nature-related topic as they share stories, encounter wildlife and explore the outdoors! Class sizes are limited to 10 children. Classes last an hour and a half of mostly outdoor activity, so always dress your child for the weather – rain/winter coats, boots, hats, gloves, etc. PEEP is geared specifically for children ages 3 – 5 years old, who are potty-trained (no pull-ups) and not attending Kindergarten (or being home-schooled for Kindergarten). Pre-registration will begin on Monday, March 13 for children not enrolled in PEEP. BNC’s PEEP Spring Session runs from April 11 – May 19. Classes are offered Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday mornings from 9:30 – 11 a.m. and Thursday afternoons from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Cost for PEEP Spring Session is $55 for BNC members per child or $75 for non-members per child (cash or check preferred). To pre-register on March 13, call 937-698-6493 or email [email protected] and provide your child’s name, age, birthdate and phone number. List your top three choices for class (see options above) and wait for an email to confirm your child is now registered and which day they will be attending.
