Crashes

Chase Alan Nelson, 19, of Sidney, was cited with operation without reasonable control after a two-vehicle crash on Dec. 10 at 12:31 a.m.

Nelson was traveling northbound on North Main Avenue when he struck a parked car on the roadway owned by Joshua Allen Staley, of Sidney. The vehicle Nelson was driving was towed by Elmer’s Towing and Staley’s vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing. Nelson had suspected minor injuries but was not evaluated by an EMS agency or transported to a medical facility.

• Thomas Kevin Clark, 69, of Sidney, was cited with operation without reasonable control after a one-vehicle crash on Dec. 9 at 5:21 p.m.

Clark was traveling eastbound on East Parkwood Street when he ran off the roadway at the curve before the intersection with Frederick Place and sideswiped a tree, causing the right front tire to blow. He then continued eastbound along the curb of East Parkwood Street until he struck a tree head-on. The vehicle was towed by Mantor’s Towing. Thomas Clark and his passenger, Penny Ann Clark, 57, of Sidney, were taken by Sidney EMS to Wilson Health with suspected minor injuries and suspected serious injuries, respectively.

• Krista Lea Schulze, 31, of Fort Loramie, was cited with right of way when turning left after a two-vehicle crash on Dec. 8 at 7:31 p.m.

Schulze was traveling southbound on North Ohio Avenue in the right lane and Kayla Dawn Basil, 28, of Sidney, was traveling in the same direction in the left lane. Schulze attempted to turn left onto East Poplar Street and struck Basil.

• Angela Renee Schmidt, 49, of Sidney, was cited with assured clear distance after a two-vehicle crash on Dec. 8 at 1:52 p.m.

Schmidt was behind Virginia E. Collier, 78, of Sidney, traveling westbound on Echo Drive. Collier stopped for the stop sign at the intersection of North Vandemark Road and Schmidt rear-ended her.

• No one was cited after a two-vehicle crash on Dec. 7 at 4:29 p.m.

Norah Diann Houts, 18, of Sidney, was stopped on North Main Avenue at the intersection of East Russell Road when a black sedan struck her and drove away.

Larry Lee Mawhorr, 76, of Bellefontaine, was traveling westbound on West Water Street at the intersection of South West Avenue when a red SUV pulled into the intersection and struck Mawhorr before driving away.

• Sue A. Hull, 77, of Sidney, was cited with assured clear distance after a two-vehicle crash on Dec. 7 at 2:15 p.m.

Hull was behind Kathy Jo Metz, 59, of Quincy, traveling westbound on state Route 47. Metz stopped in traffic and Hull rear-ended her.

• Gerri G. Heatherly, 49, of Piqua, was cited with operation without reasonable control after a one-vehicle crash on Dec. 6 at 5:48 a.m.

Heatherly was traveling westbound on Michigan Street on the Interstate 75 overpass when she struck the curb and the bridge. Heatherly’s vehicle was towed by Wrecker’s Towing and she had suspected minor injuries but was not evaluated by an EMS agency or transported to a medical facility.
