Grand jury issues indictments

SIDNEY — The Shelby County grand jury issued indictments for sexual battery, rape, and domestic violence, among other charges, on Thursday, Dec 20.

Leslie A. Kuba, 59, of Sidney, was indicted on nine counts of sexual battery, a third degree felony, nine counts of rape, a first degree felony, and one count of endangering children, a third degree felony, for engaging in sexual conduct with an adult female child victim at 13, greater than 13, and as an adult; for engaging in sexual intercourse with a 13-17 year old victim as a child and as an adult, compelling the victim to submit by force or threat of force; and to a compel an under-18 child to participate in sexual acts which the offender knew were obscene.

Chad M. Hamilton, 37, at large, was indicted on two counts of rape, a first degree felony, two counts of gross sexual imposition, a third degree felony, and two counts of sexual battery, a third degree felony, for engaging in sexual conduct with a 12 year old child victim, an 11 year old child victim, and a 13 year old child victim.

Caleb T. Strunk, 26, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was indicted on one count of domestic violence, a fourth degree felony, and one count of intimidation of a witness in a criminal case, a third degree felony, for causing physical harm to a pregnant adult female victim with whom he was cohabitating, having previously been convicted of endangering children in Shelby County Pleas Court, and for threatening an adult female victim while brandishing a knife, telling the victim he would kill her and set her house on fire if the victim told anyone.

Hope R. Schutte, aka Hope R. Parker, 41, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of domestic violence, a third degree felony, for knowingly causing harm to her spouse by knocking off the victim’s glasses and scratching the face and neck, having previously been convicted of domestic violence in the Celina Municipal Court.

Alan G. Garmajo, aka Alan G. Gramajo, 18, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, was indicted on one count failure to comply with order or signal of officer, a third degree felony, and one count receiving stolen property, a fourth degree felony, for fleeing from a law enforcement officer’s signal to stop his vehicle, operating his vehicle in a manner which caused a substantial risk by traveling at speeds in excess of 150 mph, weaving through traffic, running a stop sign, traveling in the wrong direction, passing cars on the shoulder, crashing his vehicle into a guardrail, and being in possession of a stolen Dodge Magnum.

Mark E. Schroer, 56, of Sidney, was indicted on one count possession of drugs, a third degree felony, for marijuana in an amount between 5,000 and 20,000 grams.

Brandon T. Curtner, 31, of Piqua, was indicted on one count of theft, a fifth degree felony, for stealing funds between $1000 and $7500 through an online application without the owner’s consent.

Jennifer S. White, 40, at large, was indicted on one count of theft, a fifth degree felony, for stealing funds between $1000 and $7500 through an online application without the owner’s consent.

Alan C. Stephens, 42, at large, was indicted on one count of theft, a fifth degree felony, for stealing funds between $1000 and $7500 through an online application without the owner’s consent.

Jeremy R. Myers, 46, at large, was indicted on one count failure to appear, a fourth degree felony, for failure to appear at a sentencing hearing in the Shelby County Common Pleas Court after being released on his own recognizance.

Aaron M. Swartz, 32, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of violating a protection order, a fifth degree felony, for contacting the victim by text messaging after a prior conviction under this statute in Sidney Municipal Court.

Justin A. Echeman, 39, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence with a specified concentration of a controlled substance, a first degree misdemeanor, for methamphetamine and operating a vehicle with a concentration of 279.50 ng/ml of methamphetamine in his whole blood, blood serum or plasma.

Kyle A. Wilkerson, 34, of Sidney, was indicted on one count trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for transporting bags of marijuana between 200 and 1000 grams, and possessing bags for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing marijuana. The Grand Jurors further specify that if a 2005 Chrysler was used in any manner to commit or facilitate the commission of the felony, it is subject to forfeiture.

David A. Gibson, 64, of Sassafras, Kentucky was indicted on one count trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, and one count trafficking in drugs, a third degree felony, for transporting marijuana in an amount between 200 and 1000 grams, and transporting hashish in an amount between 50 and 200 grams.

Elizabeth A. Gibson, 40, of Talcum, Kentucky, was indicted on one count trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, and one count trafficking in drugs, a third degree felony, for transporting marijuana in an amount between 200 and 1000 grams, and transporting hashish in an amount between 50 and 200 grams.

David D. Gibson, 42, of Talcum, Kentucky, was one count trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, and one count trafficking in drugs, a third degree felony, for transporting marijuana in an amount between 200 and 1000 grams, and transporting hashish in an amount between 50 and 200 grams.

Megan E. Burchett, aka Megan E. Karg, 36, of Sidney, was indicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for methamphetamine, a baggie and several pipes.
