Grand jury issues indictments for felonious assault, attempted rape

SIDNEY — The Shelby County grand jury issued indictments for felonious assault, attempted rape, domestic violence and drugs, among other charges, on Thursday, Feb. 22.

Joshua A. Elliston, 47, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was indicted on one count felonious assault, a second degree felony, one count attempted rape, a second degree felony, and one count of kidnapping, a second degree felony, for striking an adult female victim in the head with a baseball bat and punching her face with his fist, for attempting to engage in sexual conduct by threat or force with an adult female victim, and restraining an adult female victim by threatening to kill her while brandishing a baseball bat.

Kevin A. Whinery, 29, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was indicted on one count of felonious assault, a second degree felony, for attempting to run an adult female’s vehicle off the roadway with his vehicle,

Steven E. Paulus, 22, of Sidney, was indicted on one count of domestic violence, a fourth degree felony, for knowingly causing physical harm to an adult female family member by striking her in the face with his fist, having a previous conviction of assault of a family member.

Thomas J.B. Smith, 38, of Sidney, was indicted on one count having weapons while under disability, a third degree felony, for possession a Sig Sauer rifle while under disability, having a previous conviction of abduction and attempted felonious assault. The Grand Jurors further specify that the Sig Sauer rifle is subject to forfeiture.

Damian L.V. Williams, 53, of Sidney, was indicted on one count theft, a fifth degree felony, for stealing a U.S. Bank credit card from a minor child victim.

Skyler M. Turnbill, 23, of Sidney, was indicted on one count complicity to burglary, a second degree felony, for knowingly aiding or abetting another in committing a burglary by acting as a lookout.

Bruce A. Schneider, 62, of Jackson Center, was indicted on one count of trespass in a habitation, a fourth degree felony, for trespassing in a permanent habitation.

Jacob M.S. Wade, 24, of Sidney, was indicted on one count trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, one count burglary, a second degree felony, one count having weapons while under disability, a third degree felony, one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, and one count possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell Cocaine in the vicinity of a school zone, trespassing into a residence when the resident was likely to be present to commit a theft offense, possession of a .410 shotgun while under disability after a previous conviction of burglary, a pipe, and possession of cocaine. Additionally the Grand Jurors specify that the .410 shotgun is subject to forfeiture.

Austin T. Martin, 24, of Sidney, was indicted on one count trafficking in drugs, a third degree felony, two counts trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for preparing for transport and distribution Hashish, in an amount exceeding 50 grams, but less than 250 grams, preparing for transport and distribution liquid Hashish in an amount exceeding two grams but less than ten grams, preparing for transport and distribution marijuana in an amount exceeding 200 grams but less than one kilogram, and baggies, vacuum sealer, scales, vape cartridges and pipes for

the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing drugs. Additionally the Grand Jurors specify that $1,157 in cash, a Springfield Armory 9mm handgun and accessories, a Tri-Star Arms 12-gauge shotgun, Maverick Arms 12-gauge shotgun, AK-47 rifle and accessories, bullet proof vest, 32” Hisense Roku TV, Night Owl security camera system, stand-on gun case, assorted ammunition, gun accessories, rifle scope, red dot site and miscellaneous magazines, three marijuana grow tents and growing accessories are subject to forfeiture.

James Z. Drees, 40, of Sidney, was indicted on two counts trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, three counts possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, one count possession of drugs, a first degree misdemeanor, and one count of possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell Fentanyl and Xylazine, possession of cocaine, heroin, Fentanyl, Tramadol and baggies used for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing drugs.

Michelle R. Dubose, 33, currently in the Miami County Jail, was indicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for acetaminophen and oxycodone hydrochloride, a schedule II controlled substance, and a baggie for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing drugs.

Justin A. Echeman, 39, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was indicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for methamphetamine and a baggie for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing drugs.

Jeremy S. Stanley, 45, at large, was indicted on one count possession of drugs, a third degree felony, one count aggravated possession of drugs, a third degree felony, and one count possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, for Cocaine, Methamphetamine and Dizaepam after a previous conviction of a drug abuse offense.

Jimmy D. Phelps, 44, of Sarasota, Florida, was indicted on one count of illegal conveyance of prohibited item onto grounds of detention facility, a third degree felony, for knowingly conveying Fentanyl into the Shelby County Jail,

Scott E. Hudgins, 60, at large, was indicted on five counts trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell cocaine.

Holly N. Cantrell, 46, of Sidney, was indicted on one count trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell Lorazepam.

Danel S. King, 52, at large, was indicted on one count trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a third degree felony, for selling or offering to sell Fentanyl and selling or offering to sell methamphetamine in the presence of a juvenile.

Chad L, Cisco, 49, of Sidney, was indicted on four counts trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell marijuana and methamphetamine.

Alysa C. Bell, 28, of Sidney, was indicted on 12 counts trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, and three counts aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell Fentanyl, Heroin, Cocaine, Xyaiazine, Tramadol, and methamphetamine.

David M. Cassada, 39, at large, was indicted on one count having weapons while under disability, a third degree felony, three counts aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, one count possession of drugs, a fourth degree felony, one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, and two counts trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, for possessing a 12-gauge H.R. Pump Shotgun and 9mm pistol handgun while under disability, having previous convictions of trafficking in drugs, possessing Psitocyn, Fentanyl, Oxycodone, and Hydrocondone, possessing a pipe, straws, baggies and scales for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing drugs, and for selling or offering to sell Fentanyl. Additionally, the Grand Jurors specified that $1,575 in cash, the 12-gauge H.R. Pump Shotgun and the 9mm pistol handgun are subject to forfeiture.

Charlie M. Browning, 22, of Sidney, was indicted on one count trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, and two counts trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell cocaine in the vicinity of a school, and selling or offering to sell cocaine.

Jordan A. Mabes, 34, at large, was indicted on two counts trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, and three counts trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell liquid hashish in an amount exceeding two grams but less than ten grams, and selling or offering to sell Cocaine.

Shawn A. Doyen Davis, 30, of Latonia, Kentucky, was indicted on one count possession of drugs, a fourth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for possession of hashish and containers used for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing hashish.

Amellio D. Price, 35, at large, was indicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, two counts possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a third degree felony, and one count aggravated possession of drugs, a third degree felony, for methamphetamine, a baggie for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing methamphetamine, and selling or offering to sell methamphetamine.

Nathan A. Paulus, 39, currently in the Shelby County Jail, was indicted on three counts trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a second degree felony, for selling or offering to sell Fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Curtis L. Johnson, 59, of Sidney, was indicted on two counts trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, and two counts trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell Cocaine.

Nikolas W. Carson, 21, of Moraine, was indicted on two counts trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for preparing marijuana/THC products for transport and distribution in an amount exceeding 200 grams, but less than 100 grams, and for preparing Hashish for transport and distribution in an amount exceeding ten grams but less than 50 grams, and for baggies and a vacuum sealer

for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing drugs. Additionally, Grand Jurors specified that an Apple computer and vacuum sealer are subject to forfeiture.

Jovan A. Mills Pearson, 30, of Hamilton, was indicted on one count possession of drugs, a fifth degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for possession of marijuana in an amount exceeding 200 grams but less than 1000 grams, and bags used for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing marijuana.

Bradley C. Fair, 45, at large, was indicted on two counts aggravated trafficking in drugs, a second degree felony, and one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell methamphetamine in the vicinity of a school zone, and for selling or offering to sell methamphetamine.

Enrique G. Alcorta, 33, of Toledo, was indicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a second degree felony, and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, for possession of Psilocyn and bags for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing drugs.

Jeremiah D. Wilson, 43, of Sidney, was indicted on one count aggravated possession of drugs, a first degree felony, one count illegal conveyance of prohibited item onto grounds of detention facility, a third degree felony, one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth degree felony, and one count tampering with evidence, a third degree felony, for methamphetamine in an amount exceeding 50 times the bulk amount of three grams, but less than 100 times the bulk amount, conveying methamphetamine into the Shelby County Jail, possessing baggies, pipes and a container for the purpose of storing, transporting and abusing methamphetamine, and for hiding a baggie of methamphetamine on his person to impair its availability as evidence.

Jeffery A. Shepherd, 53, at large, was indicted on two counts aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth degree felony, and six counts of trafficking in drugs, a fifth degree felony, for selling or offering to sell methamphetamine, Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Xylazine.
