Senior sunrise to remember

0

This photo is a picture from our senior sunrise. A senior came up with the idea to have both a sunrise and a sunset, where we would all be together on our first day and last day. Hence sunrise and sunset, like an opening and closing of our senior year. We all brought blankets and chairs, we had music, and my family, along with donations from classmates and principals bought donuts. We all sat and talked about our summer and our upcoming senior year. The boys all played football and we all sat out there thinking about how the next day would be our last first day of school.

So much has changed since then. We will most likely not get a clap out, a cookout, bachelorette, an awards ceremony, prom, or even graduation. Even if we do get these things, they won’t be the same. So many things we have looked forward to for 13 years have been taken away from us. Some things as simple as saying goodbye to our teachers and friends who have helped prepare us for our next chapter, gone. We may not even get that opportunity. We left school on Thursday to begin our scheduled spring break, that night the school called notifying us it would be a 3-week extended break, and we had no idea we may not ever go back. At this point we are all trying to stay positive but we know we will be lucky if we even get to attend college in the fall. It has not been an easy time adjusting to it all.
