XENIA — Sidney made the long trip to Xenia Wednesday and came away with a 4-1 victory in high school girls tennis action.
The Lady Jackets’ only loss was at first singles, with Madison Frank dropping a 6-3, 6-3 verdict.
At second singles, Hailey New won 6-2, 0-6, 6-4, and at third singles, Naomi Riegel won 6-4, 6-2.
The first doubles match went to Sidney’s Auanna Edens and Caroline Gallimore by a 6-4, 7-6 score, the tiebreaker ending up 7-4. And at second doubles, Kathryn Saunders and Janae Drees won 6-2, 6-4.
In junior varsity play, Mara Hecht, Sara Gibson, Lanie Shoukri and Jenna Rice all picked up wins for Sidney.
Lehman
Lehman dropped a 4-1 verdict to Beavercreek’s B team in recent action, leaving the Lady Cavs 0-6 on the year.
Sara Gibson got Lehman’s lone win, at first singles, by a 6-2, 4-6, 14-12 score.
Sarah Kramer won a junior varsity singles match 8-0, and the doubles team of Shannon Staley and Brieanna Werling won a JV match, also 8-0.
