SIDNEY — Kathleen “Casey” and Paul Wehrle, of Sidney, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, Nov. 22, 2016, at a family dinner and celebration.

Paul and the former Casey Byrne were married Nov. 22, 1956, in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Glynwood. The Rev. James Byrne and the Rev. John Byrne, uncles of the bride, performed the ceremony on a cold, chilly day that brought evening snow. Witnesses were maid of honor Mary Agnes Cogan, best man Bob Cogan, bridesmaids Margie (Byrne) Horman and Ruthelyn (Wehrle) Schneider, junior bridesmaids Patty (Byrne) Korte and Janet (Byrne) Ott, groomsmen John Wehrle and John Wooley, and ring bearer Dennis Wehrle. The couple had met as classmates in the St. Joseph High School in Wapakoneta.

Paul is the son of the late Marina and Albert Wehrle. He has a living sister, Ruthelyn Schneider, of Wapakoneta. Another sister and a brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Frank Copeland, and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Eileen Wehrle, are deceased.

Casey is the daughter of the late Florence and Thomas Byrne. She has four sisters and brothers-in-law, Aggie and Bob Cogan, of Berea, Patty and Paul Korte, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Margie and Gene Horman and Janet and Mike Ott, all of Wapakoneta; and a living brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Kathy Byrne, of Lima. Another brother, John Byrne, is deceased.

The Wehrles are the parents of two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Bill Jacob and Kathy and Kevin Gillman, all of Sidney; and of three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tom Wehrle, of Boston, Massachusetts, and Joe and Andrea Wehrle and Dan and Karen Wehrle, all of Lebanon. They have 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Casey retired as a register nurse from the obstetrics department of Wilson Memorial Hospital in 1994. Paul retired as vice president of Stolle Corp. in 1994.

They attend Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney and enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
