RUSSIA — The week of Feb. 15-21 has been declared Russia Local School Week in the village of Russia.

Russia Mayor Terence Daugherty signed the proclamation for the special week Thursday and presented it to school officials.

“Russia Local School is very appreciative of this proclamation as this is just another sign of the amazing community that we live and work in,” said Russia Superintendent Steve Rose.

The proclamation states:

Whereas: The Russia Local School Administrators, Teachers, Support Staff, and Students have kept the School in operation for the 2020-2021 school year, and;

Whereas: The Russia Local School Administrators, Teachers, Support Staff, and Students have kept the day to day operations as normal as possible, and;

Whereas: The Russia Local School Administrators, Teachers, Support Staff, and Students have the support and gratitude of the Village of Russia Mayor, Council, Employees, Residents and;

Whereas: The Russia Local School Administrators, Teachers, Support Staff, and Students are an outstanding example of how working through unique situations help all of us get through extremely difficult times, then;

Therefore: be it resolved, that I, Terence Daugherty, Mayor-Village of Russia OH, do hereby proclaim that February 15 through February 21, 2021, as
