SIDNEY — In celebration of the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 5, organizers have planned a special gathering on the lawn of the Shelby County Court House. Prayer on the Square begins at noon and a complimentary brown bag lunch will be offered. In the event of rain, the program will be moved to Sidney First United Methodist Church, 230 E. Poplar St. in Sidney.

On Saturday, May 7, the organizers have planned a second prayer focused event. The annual Community Prayer Breakfast will be held at Christian Academy Schools, 2151 W. Russell Road in Sidney. The program begins at 10 a.m. and includes a complimentary brunch. Centerpieces for the Prayer Breakfast are being provided by S&H Products in Sidney.

Private donations have been offered to sponsor Prayer on the Square and the Community Prayer Breakfast. The volunteer organizers appreciate these individuals and organizations for their generosity.

Both prayer events are nondenominational and the public is invited. For more information, contact Mary Smith at Christian Academy Schools, 937-492-7556.
