Neil Allen, of Sidney, portrays Herman Tappe during the 18th Annual Graceland Cemetery Tour, Thursday, June 15. This years tour focused on Shelby County’s “Titans of Industry.” Tappe was born in 1876 in Sidney and died in 1954. He opened House of Tappe in New York City which specialized in lady’s hats. Tappe would still come back to Sidney for visits and was known to go to The Spot. He loved his mom and built her a large house in Sidney.
