Hardin-Houston board hires staff

HOUSTON — The Hardin-Houston Local Schools Board of Education met Monday night to employ several new staff members.

First the board accepted the resignations of Freshman Boys Basketball Coash Daniel Estes and 7th Grade Boys Basketball Coach Jacob Benanzer.

The board then employed Estes as junior varsity boys basketball coach at a rate of $3,124.44 and Benanzer as the freshman boys basketball coach at a rate of $1,874.66. They hired:

• Jacob Monnier, 7th grade boys basketball, $1,562.22

• Matt Beaver, elementary boys basketball, $312.44

• Ryan Maier, elementary girls basketball, $468.67

The board approved a 5-year administrative contract for Amy Ayers, treasurer, effective Aug. 1, 2016 to July 31, 2021.

They employed the following dual enrollment teachers for the 2015-2016 school year: Deanna Chappie, Tina Mertz, Tiffany Hickerson, Andrea Wintrow and Cara Kellersmith.

Sierra Yingst was approved as classified substitute for the 2015-2016 school year.

Also at the meeting the board approved the consulting services agreement between the Hardin-Houston Local School District and American Fidelity Administrative Services, LLC for Affordable Care Act tracking and reporting services.

They approved all treasurer recommendations and the 2015-2016 Five Year Forecast. The board approved the snow removal bid, with Sanctuary Farms for the 2015-2016 school year, as per quote and approved the superintendent as the District Compliance Officer and building principals as Building Compliance Officers.

The next board meeting will be Monday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Media Center.
