Pet Valu supports animal shelters

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Pet Valu, a specialty retailer of premium pet food, treats, toys and accessories, raised $138,000 in product and monetary donations for local animal shelters and rescues during its annual Thanks for Giving collection drive.

Throughout the month of November, Pet Valu customers were encouraged to make either monetary or product donations online and in store to provide the critical funds, food and supplies local community shelters need for the animals they support.

“At Pet Valu, we feel it is important to remember there are pets and animals in need during the season of giving,” said Joe Dent, vice president and U.S. general manager for Pet Valu. “We’re proud our customers feel similarly and have helped make this collection drive the most successful one for us yet.”

Along with the Thanks for Giving drive, Pet Valu also sends thousands of holiday cheer letters every December to military members who are not fortunate enough to be home with their families during the holiday months. Pet Valu supports all members of the military, including animals, and holds an annual fundraiser for the United States War Dogs Association, which funds transportation for veteran war dogs back to the United States after service and helps them find forever homes.
