Edison State offers manufacturing scholarship

PIQUA — Edison State Community College is partnering with Fastlane, a solutions resource partner, to offer six scholarships to eligible 2022 high school graduates of Shelby County who wish to pursue a manufacturing career.

Now in its fifth decade of service, Edison State Community College has locations in Piqua, Greenville, Eaton, and Troy. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is recognized by the Ohio Board of Regents.

The Center for Workforce Development & Education at Edison State is offering six $500 scholarships to students who are committed to a manufacturing pathway.

Approved manufacturing pathway programs of study include:

• Accounting

• Business Management

• Computer Information Systems

• Electronics Engineering Technology

• Equipment Maintenance Technology

• Industrial Management

• Interactive Media

• Mechanical Engineering Technology

The scholarship covers only courses that are part of the student’s approved program, certificate programs, and short-term technical certificates within in the approved programs of study.

Recipients must remain continuously enrolled in the approved program for funding to continue term to term.

While completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is not required, it is recommended. The scholarship can be awarded in conjunction with federal need-based financial aid. The scholarship also can be used to pay for tuition and fees, as well as books, supplies, and other college fees.

Applications for the Shelby County Manufacturing Pathway Scholarship must be submitted by April 1, 2022. Students can obtain an application from their high school guidance counselor.
