DAVIDSON, North Carolina — Lior Yahalomi, a board member and prior president of Civitas Media, has been appointed chief executive officer of the company, it announced Friday.
Yahalomi replaces Ralph Martin, who is stepping down after leading the company since Jan. 20, 2015.
Civitas Media is the parent company of the Sidney Daily News. It employs more than 1,200 associates across 12 states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee. Civitas publishes more than 100 publications for a combined weekly distribution of more than 1.6 million copies
One of Yahalomi’s early responsibilities will be to maximize its strategic value given the rapidly evolving landscape in the publishing industry, said Kamal Advani, of Versa Capital Management and a Civitas board member.
