Pet Valu plans grand opening

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Pet Valu Pet Store, a community-focused pet supply chain that recently acquired the Midwestern chain, Jack’s Pets, will re-open the Sidney Jack’s store as a newly rebranded Pet Valu, Saturday, Oct. 24.

The grand opening celebration will run at the store, 2244 Michigan St., from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A costume contest for pets kicks off at noon. Guests can enjoy fun with a clown, a coloring contest for children, face painting, games, raffles prizes and complimentary refreshments. The first 50 customers who make purchases will receive special goody bags of animal supplies.

The Shelby County Ohio Animal Rescue Foundation (SCARF) will be onsite from 9 to 11 a.m., facilitating pet adoptions and providing community engagement. Pet Valu representatives will offer $5 nail trimming for dogs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
