SIDNEY — Whittier Elementary School will host a Scholastic Book Fair on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 3 to 7:30 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 13, from 8 a.m. to noon during Parent-Teacher Conferences.
Anyone who is unable to attend the Fair in person, can visit the Online Book Fair at Scholastic.Com/Fair. The online fair will run through Nov. 18.
The book fair will offer specially priced books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles, new releases, adult bestsellers, and other great reads from dozens of publishers.
Book fair customers may also help the school build classroom libraries by purchasing books through the Classroom Wish List program, or donating loose change towards the One for Books program. Scholastic matches monetary donations with a donation of up to one million books, which goes to national non-profit organizations dedicated to helping families in need, such as the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc., and Kids in Need Foundation.
Funds raised will help purchase books for Whittier’s media center and classroom libraries.
Families, faculty, and the community are invited to attend this fun reading event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.
