NEW BREMEN — Joe Maurer, a 2018 graduate of New Bremen High School has been awarded a book scholarship from Alpha Delta Kappa.

Maurer plans to study marketing at Wright State University. At New Bremen, he participated in marching and symphonic bands and was named to the National Honor Society. Maurer was active in 4-H and Boy Scouts, having received the Order of Arrow. He is the son of Tina and Dave Maurer.

Alpha Delta Kappa is an international honorary sorority for women educators. The local chapter, Alpha Xi, is located in Wapakoneta and has over 40 active members. Current president of Alpha Xi is Diane Dillman Elshire. Alpha Xi’s members participate in many altruistic endeavors and the sorority supports local charities.
