VERSAILLES — Versailles FIRST Lego League will host a regional Lego robotics tournament in Versailles High School, 280 Marker Road, Versailles, Nov. 10 from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Admission is free.

FIRST Lego League introduces young people, 9 to 16 in grades four through eight, to science and technology, while building self-confidence, knowledge and career and life skills. The program challenges students to think like scientists and engineers. Alongside adult coaches and mentors, teams solve problems and learn engineering concepts, presentation techniques and programming. FIRST Lego League was created through a partnership between FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and the Lego Group. Children learn teamwork skills, research challenges facing today’s scientists and design, build and program autonomous robots.

Teams competing this year are from Van Wert, Fort Recovery, Coldwater, Fort Loramie, New Bremen, Russia, Saint Henry, Bluffton, Sidney, Arcanum, Botkins, Rockford and Maria Stein.
