PIQUA — Twenty-eight Lehman Catholic students were honored recently at the 52nd annual Top 100 Scholastic Awards Banquet sponsored by the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce. The awards recognize high school students who excel in the classroom. Recipients must be Piqua residents.

Lehman senior Cassidy Hemm received the award for the fourth year. She is the daughter of Jeff Hemm and Susan Hemm, both of Piqua.

Lehman students receiving the honor for the third year were Elijah Baker, Jacob Earhart, Kate Hemm, Kassandra Lee, and Elizabeth Pax. Second-year recipients included Camille Brown, Timothy Buechter, Kameron Lee, Olivia Leece, Madeline McFarland, Alanna O’Leary, Madeline Smith, and Owen Smith.

First-time Lehman honorees were Aldo Barrera, Allison Bornhorst, Grace Brandt, Alexis Caulfield, Jerry Curtis, Janelle Gravunder, Zili He, Wyatt Long, Grace Monnin, Stephen Monnin, Alexander Musser, Brandon Simmons, Shannon Staley, and Brieanna Werling.

Keynote speaker for the event was Soha Shah, vice president of operations for Jayna Inc., a manufacturing company based in Troy.

R. Scott Miller, president of the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce, served as the master of ceremonies for the evening which was held at Piqua High School. Sean Ford, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Piqua Chamber, presented the awards. The invocation was by city of Piqua Mayor Kazy Hinds. Dinner was served by Honor Society students from Piqua and Piqua Catholic Junior High Schools.

The lead sponsor of the annual event was French Oil Mill Machinery Company of Piqua.
