Gessler applicant for Springboro superintendent’s job

SIDNEY — Sidney City School District’s director of curriculum is one of 16 people who applied for the Springboro City Schools’s superintendent’s job.

Brooke Gessler was one of the candidates applying for Todd Petry’s job. Petry will leave the district on Aug. 31. Prior to being named director of curriculumn, Gessler had been assistant principal at Sidney High School.

According to WDTN-TV 2 news, the applications for the position were due by June 17. A community meeting was held June 2 to determine what qualities the district should look for in a new superintendent.

In addition to Gessler, others who applied for the position were Dr. Joel Anderson, superintendent, Reading Community City Schools; Thomas Bailey, assistant superintendent and chief operating officer, Three Rivers Local Schools; John Balzer, assistant superintendent, Jackson City Schools (Jackson County; David Bartoe, director of education and principal, Lockland Local School District; Roger Lee Cade principal, Edgerton Junior/Senior High School, Hicksville; John Corey, principal, St. Antoninus Parish School, Archdiocese of Cincinnati; Dr. Greg Finke, principal, Independence Elementary School, Lakota Local School District; Randy Gebhardt, lead principal (K-12), Wayne Local School District; Dr. Dean Gorrell, superintendent, Verona Area (WISC) Public School District; Melissa Kircher, superintendent, Bethel-Tate Local School District; Thomas Luebbe, principal, La Salle High School, Cincinnati; Jennifer Penczarski, superintendent, Kenton City School District (Hardin County; Brian Rentsch, principal, Ridgewood Local School District Elementary School (Coshocton County); Daniel Schroer, superintendent, Margaretta Local Schools (Erie County); and John Stoddard, principal, Oak Hills High School, Oak Hills Local School District.
