Houston Community Association short volunteers, trustees

HOUSTON — At the Houston Community Associations last meeting on Aug. 3, they discussed the results of the food booth at the Shelby County Fair.

“Although we did have a successful fair week, we desperately needed volunteer help to work in the booth. Next year trustees will try to come up with a better plan to get workers to help in the food booth and start earlier in the year with the planning of the booth. The helpers we did have were very much appreciated and we thank them,” according to the minutes of the meeting.

Trustees are needed. They currently need four trustees. If you would like to become a trustee, come to the next meeting on Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. or contact Jason Curl, Jack Curl, Gene Greve, Patty Cotterman or Phil Cozad.

The next fundraiser is the Fort Loramie Lake Festival to be held on Sept. 16, 17 and 18. Trustees also need help on Thursday, Sept. 15 with setting up the booth. If you are interested in working a shift or two in the food booth please contact any of the trustees listed above.

If you are interested in renting the Houston Community Association building please call Marcella Colby at 937-778-0427.

If you would like to get involved with the association, they welcome everyone in the community to come to their monthly meetings held the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
