SIDNEY — Through a grant received by the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center the “Opportunity Knocks Camp” will be offered again this year.

The camp offers Sidney City Schools current eighth- and ninth-graders career exploration in four areas: automotive tech, electrical trades, electronics/robotics and landscape management. The day camp is held at the Upper Valley Career Center and is scheduled for May 30 through June 2. Upper Valley CC staff teach the courses, with lunch and transportation being provided.

The camp is free to the students since this experience is funded through a 21st CCLC grant and Sidney City Schools is a partner. Students must complete an application available through the school counselor office at Sidney Middle School and Sidney High School and return the form to the school by April 13. The camp is limited to 40 participants.

For more information contact the school counselor office for applications or Helen Ward, grant coordinator, at 937-726-9809
