Botkins Equine team wins tournament

BOTKINS — The Botkins Local Schools FFA Equine team placed first among 83 teams during competition, March 4, in the Marysville Judging Invitational.

It was one of three Botkins FFA teams to participate in the contest.

Scoring and winning the individual title was Madeline Okuley. Madi Steinke finished in fourth place, Payton Amstuz placed 19th and Paige Oakley placed 59th among 265 individuals.

The General Livestock team placed third among 117 teams. Scoring for the team were Micah Smock, who placed second among 619 individuals, Evan Aufderhaar, who placed 17th, Lindsey Okuley, who placed 29th, and Clayton Harshbarger, who placed 80th.

The Dairy Judging Contest team finished in 25th place. The team was led by Keaton Topp, who was the champion individual among 166 contestants. Also scoring for the team were Kinley Topp and Jarod Oleyar.
