Literacy night at Hardin-Houston

HOUSTON — Hardin-Houston Elementary hosted a Family Literacy Night on Oct. 27 in an effort to encourage parent involvement and partnership in education.

Staff members created games that involved skill specific literacy strategies that children and parents could play together and easily replicate at home.

Each child who attended was issued three tokens to place on the “Book Walk” game in order to win a book. Tickets won at game stations were then submitted for prize drawings. Every child went home with at least one new book.
