MINSTER — Jared Huelsman returned a fumble and Isaac Schmiesing scored a late touchdown to help lead Minster to a 20-0 win over Fort Loramie on Friday night.

Huelsman scored on a touchdown run in the first half that gave the Wildcats a 7-0 lead. The Redskins twice drove in the red zone but turned the ball over on downs each time.

Hueslman returned the fumble 40 yards midway through the fourth to put Minster up 13-0, and Schmiesing finished the Redskins off with a short touchdown run late in the quarter.

Mike Hoying ran for 72 yards for Fort Loramie on 10 carries. Austin Siegel completed 8-of-18 passing attempts for 67 yards with two interceptions.

Minster has beat Loramie to open the season each of the last four years.

Riverside 26, Ansonia 17

Luke Roby ran for 111 yards and Caleb Stevens threw for 54 yards and ran for 85 in the Pirates win.

Riverside largely contained Ansonia’s offense, except for two long touchdown passes in the fourth quarter that accounted for much of the Tigers’ offense. The Pirates led 14-0 at halftime and scored two touchdowns in the fourth to secure the win.

Versailles 36, Celina 7

Versailles held the Bulldogs without a first down until a facemask penalty with 10:59 left in the fourth quarter. Celina could only muster 76 yards of total offense, most coming after the Tigers took a 36-0 lead.

“It was a great all-around game, I thought,” Versailles coach Adam Miller said. “Special teams-wise, offense, defense all played well.”

Kurtis Rutshilling put the Tigers on the board in the first quarter with a 3-yard touchdown run. Rutshilling scored two more times in the second half. With 5:09 left in the third, he scored on a 12-yard run. He scored his last touchdown as the third quarter ended on an 18-yard pass.

Noah Grisez scored the other two touchdowns for the Tigers. Both touchdowns came in the second quarter. His first touchdown was on a 9-yard reception. He put the Tigers up 20-0 late in the third with a 3-yard run. The extra point was missed and the Tigers took a 20-point lead into the locker room.

The Tigers running game amassed 211 yards on 49 attempts. Noah Waymire threw for 103 yards on nine attempts.

Anna 52, Arlington 0

Anna led 38-0 at halftime.

Fort Recovery 27, Lehman 21 overtime

The Cavilers led 21-7 at halftime but didn’t score in the second half.

New Bremen 48, Bradford 0

Nolan Bornhorst and Avery Powers each ran for two touchdowns in the first half to help the Cardinals amass a 35-0 lead.
