SIDNEY — Music students at Lehman Catholic High School performed their annual Christmas concert recently for a large crowd of family and friends. Music groups participating in the event were the Chamber Ensemble, Cavalier Choir, Concert Band, and The Limelighters Show Choir. All groups are directed by Betsy Moorman. The accompanist for the choral groups is Jenny Weber.
The first group to perform was the Chamber Ensemble, a new music class at Lehman this year. Consisting of a violin and two cellos, the ensemble played three carols, “The First Noel,” “We Three Kings” and “Angels We Have Heard on High.”
The Cavalier Choir, this year a women’s ensemble, performed “Catalonian Carol,” “Sing We Now of Chrsitmas” and “A Festive Noel.” Not to be undone, the ladies from Show Choir then performed “Balulalow.”
The Concert Band was next on the program with “You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch,” “Wexford Carol” and a medley of songs from the popular Christmas movie “The Polar Express.” The Limelighters then performed “Hot Chocolate,” with choreography by choir member Claudia Fatone, “I Wonder As I Wonder” and “Ring in the Holidays,” with choreography by choir member Adriana Sehlhorst.
The Show Choir concluded the program with their signature song, “The Lord Bless You and Keep You”. As is traditional, music alumni in the audience were invited to join the choir for the closer.
Following the program, all in attendance enjoyed cookies and punch served by Music Booster parents.
