Sheriff’s log

TUESDAY

-10:25 a.m.: property-damage accident. A tire on a truck blew and destroyed the front of the vehicle. The crash occurred at the 96 mile marker of northbound Interstate 75.

-7:22 a.m.: vandalism. A car was vandalized inside and out at 3000 Lisa Drive, Clinton Township.

MONDAY

-8:48 p.m.: domestic trouble. A man reportedly hit a woman with a drill at 17987 Kettlersville Road. Anna Rescue, Van Buren Township Fire and deputies responded.

-4:54 p.m.: burglary. A burglary was reported at 13215 Luthman Road.

-3:57 p.m.: theft. Identity theft was reported at 7219 Tawawa-Maplewood Road.

-9:23 a.m.: high water. High water was reported in the area of Perin Road and Ohio 47.

FRIDAY

-5:17 p.m.: theft. Dale Goubeaux, Loramie Township trustee, reported the township road “work ahead” signs on Loramie-Washington Road, north of Fessler-Buxton Road, were stolen. Goubeaux said this is the second time the road work signs have been taken.

Fire, rescue

TUESDAY

-2:30 p.m.: injury. Anna Rescue was called to Honda, 12500 Meranda Road.

MONDAY

-5:19 p.m.: medical. Houston Rescue was called to the 900 block of Brown Road.

-10:53 a.m.: medical. Perry-Port-Salem Rescue was called to the 10000 block of Ohio 65.

-8:04 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Fire were called to the 10000 block of Wenger Road.

-7:16 a.m.: medical. Perry-Port-Salem Rescue was called to the 6000 block of Palestine Street, Pemberton.

-2:10 a.m.: medical. Houston Rescue was called to the 10000 block of Fair Road.

SUNDAY

-11:41 p.m.: fire. Smoke was reported to be coming from Bambauer Fertilizer and Seeds, 20910 Wise Road, Jackson Center. Anna Fire and Rescue, Jackson Center Fire, Van Buren Township Fire, and Maplewood Fire responded.

-6:34 p.m.: injury. Perry-Port-Salem Rescue was called to the 200 block of West Main Street, Port Jefferson.

Accidents

Ryan A. Osterloh, 30, 61 S. Lincoln St., Minster, was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident Saturday at 9:25 p.m.

According to the report, Osterloh was backing out of a private drive at 2757 Schlater Road when his vehicle went off the west side of the drive into a creek bed, becoming lodged on the culvert. The vehicle was tilted toward the driver’s side into the creek bed and had to be secured by cables to keep it from overturning.

His 2007 Hummer H3 was towed from the scene with light damage.

• One person was injured in an ATV accident on private property Saturday at 4:34 p.m.

Von Thompson, 38, of Troy, was taken by CareFlight to a hospital for head injuries received in the accident, which happened at 13856 State Route 274, Botkins.

According to the report, Thompson, Travis Calloway, 29, of Piqua, and Blake R. Howell, 27, of Wapakoneta, were riding four-wheelers when they rode up a steep ditch/hill and Thompson’s four-wheeler rolled over on him. Calloway and Howell took Thompson back to the house and called 911.

• Anthony D. Deerhake, 36, of 223 W. Spring St., New Knoxville, was cited for failure to yield at a stop or yield sign following a two-vehicle accident Saturday at 11:35 a.m.

According to the report, Deerhake was stopped facing south at the intersection of Fledderjohn and Botkins roads. He said he was attempting to turn eastbound on Botkins Road when a vehicle driven by Blaine Matthew Wilges, 23, of Wapakoneta, sideswiped him.

Wilges was traveling west on Botkins Road when Deerhake pulled out from Fledderjohan Road, causing both vehicles to sideswipe each other. Wilges’s vehicle came to rest against a building on the west side of Fledderjohn Road.

Deerhake, Wilges and a passenger in Wilges’s vehicle, Mackenzie R. May, 22, 502 E. College St., Jackson Center, were treated at the scene by Anna Rescue.

Deerhake’s 2001 Ford Focus sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene. Wilges’s 2002 Hyundai Elantra sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.

• Christin S. Allen, 31, of Fairborn, was westbound in the 12000 block of East Lockington Road Saturday at 10:40 a.m. when his truck slid off the right side of the roadway after getting over too far for a passing vehicle. The vehicle came to rest on the right side of the road.

The 1996 International Harvester 2000 Series, owned by Trinity Concrete LLC, Fairborn, sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
