Riley receives Walter Award

HOUSTON — Troy Riley, a senior at Houston High School, is the 2016 recipient of the Franklin B. Walter All Scholastic Award.

The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center and the Ohio Educational Service Center Association present the award yearly, which is named for Franklin B. Walter, former state superintendent of Public Instruction, Ohio Department of Education.

One student from each Educational Service Center in the state receives such an award. The high school guidance counselor in each of the schools within Shelby County nominates a student for this award. Criteria for this section include the individual’s school and community activities, awards, personal goal statement, grade point average and ACT/SAT score(s).

Riley has been invited to attend a special recognition luncheon held at the Double Tree Columbus-Worthington. Riley is the son of Kevin and Michelle Riley.
