When is whenever and whatever?

Did you ever wonder when is whenever and whatever are?

During Christmas break, I had the opportunity to just chill out. We had a couple of grandkids staying with us for a few days. So a puzzle, roller skating and some monopoly were in order. Our Monopoly game lasted three days (on and off). These are the days memories are made of and important life lessons are taught. Although the calendar did not show scheduled appointments, these precious hours were spent in some very high level meetings that I believe will affect the generations to come. You might asking yourself what could have possibility happen during those few days that could make that much difference?

As it states in 1 Corinthians 10:31 “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

We modeled the behavior of Christians, living daily life in the world today. Our grandchildren watched the way we used our Monopoly money, helping when others needed a loan or a “hand up” as they say. When roller skating was a little harder than it looked, they perservered with a reminder of, “you can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Phil. 4:13. And finally the way that Mark and I treated each other—with honor and respect were shown each day they were with us. Each day our grandchildren were with us we had such an opportunity— every moment we were teaching. As parents we need to remember our children are watching us and learning what we model for them every day not just the days we want them to observe our behaviors.

Dueteronomy 6:6-7 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all soul and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.”
