Minster boys roll up 216 points

VERSAILLES — Minster rolled up 216 points to run away with the Orange Division championship in the Versailles Boys Invitational track meet Saturday at Versailles.

Versailles won the Black Division with 142 points.

Minster acounted for nine first-place finishes, including the four relays. Jacob Dues was first in the 110 hurdles, Evan Huelsman in the 300 hurdles, Max Prenger in the shot put, Tony Winner in the discus and Jared Thobe in the long jump.

Russia, which was second, got two firsts from Trevor Monnin in the 200 and 400 dashes, a first from Caleb Ball in the 800, and another from Drew Poling in the high jump.

Jason Zircher of New Bremen as first in the 3200.

In the Black Division, Versailles also won all four relays and got a first from Josh Steinbrunner in the 100 hurdles.

Sidney competes

at Northmont

The Sidney boys scored 22 points and placed 11th out of 18 teams Saturday in the Jack Lintz Invitational track meet at Northmont High School.

The Lady Jackets scored 18 points and placed 10th.

Darryl McNeal was Sidney’s top performer in the boys meet, placing third in the long jump with a distance of 20-feet, 7.75 inches, and placing fifth in the 200 dash in 24.77.

Tyler Guyett was right behind McNeal in the scoring, finishing third in the shot put with a heave of 45-2.25, and adding a sixth in the discus at 125-10. Teammate Devan Rogers placed sixth in the shot put at 43-3.25.

The girls were led by senior Kaitlyn Davis. She took second in the 300 hurdles in 49.91 and sixth in the 100 dash in 13.65, and ran on the sixth-place 400 relay team that finished in 56.25. She was joined by Alina Kindle, Sadi Timmons and Bailey Sherman.

Emma Wiford was seventh in the discus at 88-9, Timmons eighth in the 100 in 13.84, and the team of Sherman, Kindle Barr and Harvey was eighth in the 800 relay in 2:05.04.

Anna competes

at Tipp City

TIPP CITY — The Anna boys were eighth out of 17 teams in the Tipp City Invitational Saturday, finishing with 42 points. Dunbar was the team champion.

For the boys, the 3200 relay team of Axe, Gaier, Huber and Burden was second in 8:47.38, Austin Fogt was fifth in the 110 hurdles in 19.44, Logan Konst was seventh in the 100 in 12.12, the team of Rioch, Berner, Shiflett and Layman was eighth in the 800 relay, Lucas Huber was second in the 3200 in 10:35.32 and eighth in the 1600 in 4:53.33, the 400 relay team of Rioch, Layman, Konst and Berner was seventh in 47.78, Colton Nanik placed eighth in the 300 hurdles in 50.28, Joel Gaier was fourth in the 800 in 2:09.58, and the 1600 relay team of Berner, Nanik, Rioch and Gaier placed third in 3:48.68.

In the field events, Blake Stephens took fourth in the high jump at 5-6.

The girls were also eighth, scoring 27.5 points in the 18-team meet.

The 3200 relay team of Ganger, Gehret, Robinson and Rogers was eighth in 13:17.51, Riley Edwards was fifth in the 100 hurdles in 18.68, Hannah Shoemaker was eighth in the 300 hurdles in 54.78, and the team of Bensman, Edwards, Gehret and Harvey was eighth in the 1600 relay in 4:58.85.

In the field events, Shanna Roe took fifth and Beka Emerson seventh in the high jump, both a 4-3, Shoemaker was third in the pole vault at 7-feet and seventh in the long jump at 13-11.25, and Claire Spicer was fifth in the shot put at 30-9.25.

Sidney’s Ian Bowman (7) is followed closely by teammate Jonathan Perin in the early stages of the 1600-meter run Saturday at the Northmont Invitational.
