Trump debates are lies

To the editor:

The 2017 presidential election is drawing near, and as I listen to the GOP debates, all I hear are lies, lies, lies — all of them being from the heart and coming out of the lips of the front-runner, Donald Trump. He lies and covers up the first lie with a second lie and covers up the second lie with a third. As I continue to watch the GOP debates with my sons, I had to turn the TV off. They are the worst debates I’ve ever seen. Here are grown, intelligent men attacking one another in many wicked ways on public TV. I teach my sons love, honor, respect and kindness, not hate, jealousy or attacking others. Hopefully, other parents did not allow their children to watch this filth in their living rooms. They (Donald Trump and Ted Cruz) looked like kids fighting over a piece of candy.

Men and women will say anything to get a vote or position. I am so glad I already have my position. Be very careful at the voting booth. Donald Trump has never been anything more than a businessman; he knows nothing about foreign affairs. He has even said we need to kill the families of ISIS. Well now, would that not make us terrorists? Just today, he’s saying he would allow rich Muslims to enter the U.S. Donald Trump cares nothing about the U.S. His mind and heart all all about money. Luke 12:34 says, “… where your heart is, there will your treasure be also.” Colossians 2:8 says, “… see to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.”

It doesn’t really matter who takes office in 2017; it won’t affect me. My prayer is, you don’t let it affect you either. I have my position (do you have yours?) and I stand on it: Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, I’m with you, do not be dismayed for I’m your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my right hand of righteousness.”
