Loramie girls get past JC

JACKSON CENTER — Fort Loramie scored five times in the top of the second and it stood up in a 7-2 victory over Jackson Center in County softball action Monday night.

The win put the Lady Redskins at 4-6 overall.

Loramie got an RBI double from Abby Holthaus in the five-run second, and a solo home run from Jessica Boerger for insurance in the seventh.

Kara Magoteaux led Loramie’s 10-hit attack with two singles and a double. Holthaus and Boerger both had two hits, and Magoteaux also scored twice.

Loramie’s Kristin Raterman pitched the first six innings and struck out 11 JC hitters. Megan Koppin fanned two more in the seventh.

Anna 21, Botkins 0

ANNA — Anna remained unbeaten in County action this season with a 21-0 run-rule verdict over backyard rival Botkins in high school softball action Monday.

The Lady Rockets are 3-0 in the league and 5-2 overal.

Macey Richard, Paige Richard and Bailey Sommer all had three hits apiece for Anna and Riley Osborn, Olivia Place and Chloe Spencer two hits apiece.

Houston 8, Bradford 3

BRADFORD — Houston got past a good Bradford squad in non-league action Monday, 8-3.

Houston is now 8-2 and Bradford 8-5.

“Bradford is good, so this was a good win for us,” said Houston coach Brent New.

Macey Stang singled and doubled for Houston, Micalah Hensley, Sarah Monnier and Kaytlyn Riffell all singled twice, Kayla New had a double, and Emily Foster had a big two-run single in the seventh when Houston put up three insurance runs.

Sidney 21, Trotwood 1

TROTWOOD — Sidney scored at will in routing Trotwood 21-1 in Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division action Monday.

The two teams play again today at Sidney High School.

Regan Carey singled, doubled, tripled and drove in three for Sidney, Taylor New had two doubles and drove in three, Kacey Swiger was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, and Summer Inman had four hits, including a double.
