Camp Palmer events to be held

FAYETTE — 4-H Camp Palmer will hold a Spring Family Camp-May 14-15 at camp. Families can camp in the cabins for an overnight, have tasty meals in our dining hall and enjoy some fun activities including canoeing, zip line, climbing wall, campfire, archery and more. Registration on www.camppalmer.com

Camp Palmer will sponsor and host our 1st 5K Run/Walk-Pool Run on May 21. The race will start at 9:00 am. The race course will start at camp and end in the center of camp and include roads around and through Harrison Lake State Park. Awards will be given to top three finishers in each age group. You may print a registration from www.camppalmer.com or register on- line at Davesraces.com. T- shirts guaranteed for entries received by May 10.

Camp will also host the Woodland and Wildlife Family Festival on May 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4-H Camp Palmer. This event is sponsored by nine Northwest Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Districts with some special activities by 4-H Camp Palmer and a variety of other organizations. This is open for families and free admission. Some of the activities include Black Swamp Raptors, Bees-Live Hive, portable sawmill, Wood Magic, Wildlife Pelts, Snakes, Chestnut Education Plot, horse drawn wagon rides, camp tours by tractor/wagon, leaf casting, fishing-casting, kids scavenger hunt, wood magic, tomahawk throwing, state park naturalist. Some vendors will have items for sale: i.e.-maple syrup, kettle corn, camp store, Friends of Camp Palmer will provide food & drinks for purchase. Camp will run zip line for $1 per participant and log rolling in camp pool $5 per try for pool fund
