Seger named outstanding student

WOOSTER — Douglas Seger was recently named an outstanding student at Ohio State ATI. Seger graduated on May 7 with an associate of science degrees in crop management and in livestock production and management, specializing in swine production.

Seger is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges and universities. He was awarded the American FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention in October. He completed a crop management internship with Truepointe Cooperative in Osgood, Ohio, where he worked with local farmers to provide seed, fertilizers, and other services. He also completed an internship with Great Plains Management at a farrow-to-wean sow farm in Mayfield, Kentucky.

He has been an active member of Ohio State ATI’s Agronomy Club and Hoof-n-Hide Club and is a member of Ohio Pork Producers, Ohio Farm Bureau, and the Shelby County Farm Bureau.

Following graduation, Seger plans to return to his family’s farrow-to-finish hog operation.

Ohio State ATI, located in Wooster, Ohio, is an associate degree granting program within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University. Ohio State ATI is ranked number one in the nation in the granting of associate degrees in agriculture and related sciences.
