Chamber sets cybersecurity seminar

SIDNEY — The Sidney-Shelby County Chamber of Commerce will host a seminar on cybersecurity, June 28, at 8 a.m., in the Holiday Inn Express, 450 Folkerth Ave.

The seminar, to be led by Chris Traxler, CEO of Cirrus Technologies Inc., is open to chamber members only.

Traxler will illustrate how business leaders can protect their companies from being victimized by cybercrime. Attendees will learn nine critical IT security protections they need to have in place now to protect their companies from cyberattacks, data breach lawsuits, bank fraud and compliance penalties.

In business, being online is a necessity. Unfortunately however, being online also exposes businesses to any number of internal and external threats.

It’s estimated that 82,000 new malware (virus) threats are released every single day with the intention of corrupting a business and stealing its data. Not surprisingly, most companies do not have adequate security protocols in place to protect themselves, their bank accounts, and their customer’s data.

Register for the seminar by calling 492-9122 or visiting www.SidneyShelbyChamber.com.
