SIDNEY — Paul Barhorst spoke with the Sidney Rotarians recently about the upcoming Country Concert event.

Paul is the son of Mike Barhorst who started producing the Country Concerts 36 years ago. County Concert is a multiday event in which many country acts perform for a crowd of moer than 27,000 people. Barhorst said he is constantly striving to bring acts in which the fans want to see. This year they have Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt and many other performers scheduled to appear.

In 2015m the event was recognized by the International Entertainers Association for 35 years of county concerts. A Rotarian asked him why he believes that this was successful and Barhorst said it was because it was more than just a concert. People go to camp and have a good time. There is a good mix of local people and people from across the United States who attend, he said. They have ticket reservations from 45 states.

The Sidney Rotary Club will raffle for a pair of stage front seats including deluxe catered meals, VIP access and photo opportunities with some of the stars. Raffle tickets are $5 per ticket or five tickets for $20. The money raised will go to support the Rotary Scholarship fund. To buy tickets, call 492-3884.
