Couple mark golden year

FORT LORAMIE — Linda and Ted Fleckenstein, of Fort Loramie, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a dinner with family and friends, Nov. 5, 2016, in the 17 West restaurant in New Bremen and then the Fort Loramie Racing Club in Fort Loramie.

Ted and the former Linda K. Pierce were married Nov. 5, 1966, at 10 a.m., in the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fort Loramie. The Rev. John Brucker performed the ceremony on a cold, but sunny, beautiful day that followed a major snowstorm two days before. Witnesses were best man Ralph Fleckenstein, maid of honor Doris Fleckenstein, ushers Tom Eilerman and Aloys Albers, bridesmaids Mary Jane Fleckenstein and Pat Fleckenstein, ring bearer Brian Barhorst and flower girl Lisa Winner. The couple had met at Mauri’s Landing, a restaurant on Lake Loramie.

Ted is the son of the late Marie C. (Kuether) and Ferdinand J. Fleckenstein. He has a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Carol Fleckenstein, of Minster; and five living sisters and four living brothers-in-law, Doris and Tim Hoying, of Botkins, Mary Jane Knapke, of Maria Stein, Pat Fleckenstein, of New Bremen, Sara and Tim Cotterman, of Sidney, and Don Clune and Ann and Bill Thieman, all of Minster. Another sister, Alice Clune, and a brother-in-law, Louis Knapke, are deceased.

Linda is the daughter of the late Katharine H. (Moore) and Robert H. Pierce. She has a brother, Robert S. Pierce, of Findlay.

The Fleckensteins are the parents of a son, Greg Fleckenstein, and a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Dale Hilgefort, all of Fort Loramie. They have four grandchildren.

Linda is a homemaker. Ted is a farmer and the owner/operator of Fleckenstein Gravel LLC.

They attend the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fort Loramie and enjoy playing cards and spending time with their grandchildren.
