SIDNEY — FFA Students from Fort Loramie are contributing their community service hours to help renovate the Community Foundation Building at the Fairgrounds.

The Rainbow Gardeners of Shelby County raised funds and received donations from Cargill, Charles Schwab, and Buckeye Ford Lincoln, as well as a Selma Geib memorial contribution to purchase materials and supplies for the renovation.

When the first phase of the renovation has been completed, the building will sport new walls, shelving, carpeting, and easier access to all of the booths. Walls were removed on the east side of the building to house the Flower Show, and the Baked Goods and the Shelby County Libraries have improved space along the west side. A fresh coat of paint will dress up the entire building and help preserve this historical landmark in time for the 2017 Shelby County Fair.
