New Knoxville approves forecast, new treasurer

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Board of Education met in regular session last week to discus and approve the five-year forecast.

Treasurer Cathy Doseck explained the anticipated decrease in Personal Property Tax collections, as well as several other areas of expected change in the current and future years that will impact the districts ending balance.

Overall the forecast reflects Excess Revenue Over Expenditures for the next four years. A full report can be found on Ohio Department of Education’s website.

The board also approved a contract with Amy Reineke, as Assistant Treasurer/Treasurer. She will serve as the Assistant Treasurer effective Nov. 14, 2016. Upon the date Reineke obtains an Ohio School Treasurer’s license, she will take over as the Treasurer. As part of her contract, the board has approved SERS pick-up for Reineke for both the Assistant Treasurer position and Treasurer position at 100 percent.

In other business the board:

• Hired Jennifer Duncan and Deborah Casazza as substitute teachers and Sondra Thatcher as a substitute custodian.

• Approved a donation from the Adult Volleyball League in the amount of $500.

• Approved the junior high students to attend an out-of-state field trip to Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

• Approved Cy Schwieterman Inc. for snow removal, as needed, per exhibit.

• Approved the date changes for the November Regular meeting from Nov. 28, 2016, to Nov. 21, 2016, and the December Regular meeting from Dec. 26, 2016, to Dec. 19, 2016.
