Offensive woes continuefor Lady Rockets in loss

WEST LIBERTY — Anna’s offensive struggles continued Thursday night in a 55-27 loss at the hands of unbeaten West Liberty-Salem in non-league girls basketball action.

The loss left the Lady Rockets at 2-4 on the season, and in their last two games, they have averaged just 26 points.

On Thursday, only three players scored, with Macey Huelskamp getting 12 to lead the way.

It was just 12-10 after one quarter, but Anna managed only 17 points the rest of the way, and fell behind 30-15 at the half.

Anna returns to action today at home against Russia.

Waynesfield 47, Lehman 38

Lehman fell to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the Northwest Central Conference with a 47-38 loss to Waynesfield-Goshen in league play.

The Lady Cavaliers return to action Tuesday at home against Fairlawn.

Waynesfield is now 3-5.

No other details of the game were available.

Versailles 62, NB 27

NEW BREMEN — The unbeaten Versailles Lady Tigers had little trouble remaining perfect on the season, routing host New Bremen 62-27 in Midwest Athletic Conference play Thursday night.

The win has the Lady Tigers at 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the Midwest Athletic Conference going into a game today at Fort Loramie.

New Bremen drops to 0-2 in the league and 1-4 overall and is at Delphos Jefferson today.

Versailles held Bremen to just two points in the opening quarter for a 16-point bulge at its end.

Kami McEldowney poured in 22 points, including 13 in the first quarter on the strength of three three-pointers. She had four in the game and was 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Danielle Winner added 12 points.

New Bremen got 11 from Kelly Naylor.

NK 50, Parkway 31

NEW KNOXVILLE — The New Knoxville Lady Rangers ran their record to 3-5 on the year and evened their Midwest Athletic Conference mark at 1-1 with a 50-31 win over visiting Parkway Thursday night.

The Lady Rangers jumped out to a 13-3 lead after one quarter and coasted from there to the win. They will return to action Monday at Spencerville in non-league play.

Kenzie Schroer had 13 points and Megan Jurosic 12 to lead the Lady Rangers. Jurosic flirted with a double-double, finishing with eight rebounds.

New Knoxville was 22 for 50 from the field for 44 percent and held Parkway to just 10 for 38, 26 percent. That was more than enough to overcome getting outrebounded 31-24, and Parkway having six more made free throws in the game.

Perry 30, Riverside 29

DEGRAFF — Riverside dropped to 1-6 after a 30-29 loss to Lima Perry in Northwest Central Conference action Thursday night.

The win was Perry’s first of the season and put the Lady Commodores at 1-4. In the conference, Perry is 1-1 and Riverside 0-1.

Riverside had three players with nine points each, including Marissa Davis, Aubrie Stillings and Kalin Kreglow.

Riverside is back in action Tuesday at Marion Elgin.
