Board sets organization meeting

FORT LORAMIE — The Fort Loramie Board of Education laid plans for its annual organizational meeting, heard reports and approved the hiring of tutors during its regular meeting, Dec. 20.

The organizational meeting will be Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. Diane Pleiman will serve as president pro tempore to preside at the meeting.

The board approved employing Mary Anthony, Ernestine Daugherty, Amanda Frey, Norma Humphreys, Jane Kerrigan, Stephanie Stueve, Shirley Umstead and Amy Wrasman as kingergarten/first grade tutors, Amanda Wrasman as junior high track coach, and Mike Ballas, Riley Holland and Hailey Wray as volunteer coaches.

It also approved the employement of one substitute teacher for the current school year at a pay rate of $90 per day.

In other action, the board:

• Accepted a donation by Ruhenkamp Boring & Trenching in the amount of $161.12 in support of athletics.

• Approved contracting with certified public accountant Carol M. Riggle to help with preparation of FY2017 financial reports.

• Approved a field trip by fifth-graders to Greenfield Village.

• Heard reports by the elementary and high school principals and the superintendent.
