FORT LORAMIE — Fort Loramie handed Jackson Center its second straight loss and first in County play Thursday night with a low-scoring 31-24 verdict in girls basketball action at Loramie.

The Lady Redskins are now 4-1 in the league and 8-3 overall after their fifth straight win. They have another big game Saturday at Russia.

Jackson is 3-1 and 7-2 and is at Houston Saturday.

Loramie was up just 4-2 after a quarter before pulling out to a 13-6 lead at the half.

The lead was cut to 20-16 after three quarters, then Jackson got the first basket of the final period to make it 20-18.

But the Lady Tigers struggled through a scoring drought after that and Fort Loramie built up a lead of as much as eight to come away with the win.

Reyan Frey led Loramie with 10. Alicia Kessler had 13 for the Lady Tigers.

Lehman 43, Riverside 29

DEGRAFF — Lehman broke away from a tight game at Riverside in the second half and went on to beat the Lady Pirates 43-29 in Northwest Central Conference action.

The Lady Cavs are now 2-1 in the league and 4-6 overall heading to Marion Elgin Saturday.

Riverside falls to 0-2 in the league and 1-9 overall and plays at Troy Christian Saturday.

Lehman led just 18-17 at the half, but outscored the Lady Pirates 14-6 in the third period to take control.

Grace Monnin and Alanna O’Leary had 10 apiece for Lehman and Hannah Fogt added nine points and eight rebounds. Rylie McIver led the defense with four steals.

Riverside was led by Dana Jones with nine points.

Minster 42, DSJ’s 20

DELPHOS — Minster kept rolling along unbeaten Thursday night, going on the road and routing Delphos St. John’s in Midwest Athletic Conference play 41-20.

The win put the Lady Wildcats at 3-0 in MAC play and 9-0 on the year heading into a game at Jackson Center Tuesday.

Minster’s defense controlled the game, holding the Lady Blue Jays to just three points in the opening period, which led to a 10-point lead. It was 23-7 at the half.

Minster had excellent balance, which led to no one scoring in double figures. All six girls in the scoring column had between five and nine points, with Rosie Westerbeck leading with nine.

Versailles 66, Parkway 21

VERSAILLES — Versailles sprinted to an 18-3 lead after one quarter and coasted from there to a 66-21 victory over Parkway in MAC action Thursday at Versailles.

The Lady Tigers upped their league record to 4-0 and are now 11-1 on the season heading to Marion Local next Thursday.

Elizabeth Ording led the Lady Tigers with 14 points. Lindsey Winner had 13 despite not playing in the first half. She had 10 of her points in the third quarter. Camille Watren had a pair of three-pointers in the opening quarter and went on to finish with 10.

Parkway (21) — Miller 2, Crouch 4, Bates 8, Eichet 2, Hawk 5.

Marion 47, New Bremen 30

NEW BREMEN — New Bremen was trying to even its record at 5-5 but Marion Local had other ideas, beating the Lady Cardinals 47-30 in MAC action Thursday.

The Lady Cardinals are 4-6 heading into a home game with Botkins Saturday. Marion is 5-5 and is at Celina Tuesday.

The game was tied 13-13 at the half after Marion managed just two third-quarter points. But the Lady Flyers atoned for that with a 22-point third quarter.

Macey Griesdorn and Natalie Rethman had 15 apiece for Marion and Chloe Bertke added 10.
