SIDNEY — Christian Academy Schools will have an American Homecoming Celebration, Jan. 21, following its annual homecoming basketball games, Jan. 20.
The games, including play by the junior high girls team at 4:30 p.m., the junior high boys team at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity boys team at 7 p.m., will be against Marion Hawks.
The celebration, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the school, will comprise corn hole and hillbilly golf tournaments, a scavenger hunt, darts, card games and a hot dog-eating contest.
During the week before the games, students will be encouraged to dress as American historical figures, Jan. 17; celebrate Spirit Day, Jan. 18; enjoy Hat Day, Jan. 19; and mark American Patriot Day and have a pep rally, Jan. 20.
A homecoming king and queen will be crowned during half time of the varsity game, Jan. 20.
Queen candidates are Bethany Abbott, daughter of Doris and Steve Abbott; Summer Inman, daughter of Ronda and Chad Inman, and Alena Tagle, daughter of Jonathon Tagle.
King candidates are Jay Curlis, son of Kim and Bob Curlis; Jesse Divens, son of DeDe and LeRoy Divens; Paul Kindig, son of Marsha and Eric Kindig; Josiah Kramer, son of Susan and Brian Kramer; Ethan Pollard, son of Michlle Pollard and Jeff Pollard; Ciaran Shellenberg, son of Jeanette and Frederick Shellenberg; andGunnar Weymer, son of Stephaine and Gunnar Weymer.
On the homecoming court are ninth-graders Kelly Curlis and Garrett Kramer, 10th-graders Charlie Adkins and Ciera Hayes, and 11th-graders Josten Carpenter and Hannah Michael.
