HOUSTON — The Hardin-Houston Board of Education met Monday night to reorganize for 2017.

The board elected Steve Mowery as President and Jason Shaffer as Vice President for the year. They also made routine appointments to committees and authorizations to administrators.

In addition they approved the service agreement for Donna Long, between the Midwest regional ESC and the Hardin Houston Local School District.

The board approved the 2017 Eighth Grade Washington D.C. trip from Oct. 24-29, 2017 and approved the amount of $3,000 for the Board Service Fund. They adopted the rate of $50 per meeting, not to exceed 15 meetings per calendar year.

They also established the regular meeting dates for the Board of Education for the 2017 calendar year for the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m.

The next regular board meeting will be Monday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Media Center.
