FORT LORAMIE — A turn lane will be added to Ohio 705 next to the new Casey’s General Store in Fort Loramie following action by the village council during its regular meeting, Jan. 16.
The cost of the turn lane will be approximately $18,500.
In other business, the council:
• Elected Matt Hoying president of the council.
• Gave second reading to an ordinance to approve 2017 appropriations.
• Gave second reading to an ordinance to amend water rates as follows: First 2000 gallons, $9.38; next 10,000 gallons, $1.56 per 1,000 gallons, $1.25 per 1,000 gallons. Outdoor water will be $5 per 1,000 gallons. There will also be a $20 monthly service charge for delinquent accounts.
• Gave second reading to an ordinance to amend sewer rates as follows: First 2,000 gallons, $27.75; next 3,000 gallons, $9.08 per 1,000 gallons; next 5,000 gallons, $8.66 per 1,000 gallons; next 10,000 gallons, $7.18 per 1,000 gallons; next 20,000 gallons, $6.30 per 1,000 gallons. There will be a $20 monthly service charge for delinquent accounts.
• Approved executing an agreement with Northwest Central Ohio Solid Waste District for trash and recycling collections at the following rates: $2.35 per bag for the period of March 1, 2017, to Feb 28, 2019; $2.42 per bag for the period of March 1, 2019, to Feb. 28, 2020; $2.48 per bag for the period of March 1, 2020, to Feb. 28, 2021; $2.55 per bag for the period of March 1, 2021, to Feb. 28, 2022; and for unlimited pick-up as follows: $12.90 per month for the period of March 1, 2017, to Feb. 28, 2019; $13.29 per month for the period of March 1, 2019, to Feb. 28, 2020; $13.36 per month for the period of March 1, 2020, to Feb. 28, 2021; $14.10 per month for the period of March 1, 2021, to feb. 28, 2022; and for recycling as follows: $3 per month for the period of March 1, 2017 to Feb. 28, 2019; $3.09 per month for the period of March 1, 2019, to Feb. 28, 2020; $3.18 per month for the period of March 1, 2020, to feb. 28, 2021; $3.28 per month for the period of March 1, 2021, to feb. 28, 2022.
• Approved an economic development transfer of Casey’s General Store from C-1 to C-2, which permits the store to obtain a liquor permit.
