Detroit man sentenced to prison

SIDNEY – A Detroit man was sentenced to 18 months in the confines of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction on a charge of possession of drugs recently in Shelby County Common Pleas Court.

Brandon J. Ross, 32, was arrested by Sidney Police on June 3, 2016, after being discovered with 371 Oxycodone tablets prepared for sale. Bond was set at $20,000. On Jan. 23, he plead guilty to the charge of drug possession.

Judge James Stevenson ordered the prison term, fined him $300 and assessed him the court costs.

In another case, Stevenson imposed five years of community control and mandated that Brett E. Edwards, 52, Piqua, be sent to the Western Ohio Regional Treatment and Habilitation (WORTH) Center in Lima, on charges of possession of chemicals for manufacture of drugs, and illegal cultivation of marijuana.

On Aug. 30, 2016, Edwards was arrested for allegedly being involved with manufacturing methamphetamine. He was also fined $200 and assessed court costs.

Brantley Longacre, 30, Dayton, was also placed on five years of community control and ordered to the WORTH Center on a charge of breaking and entering. On Oct. 7, 2016, Longacre entered Brew Nation, 110 E. Poplar St., and removed cash. He was ordered to pay $585 in restitution.

Michael Tucker, 40, 12635 Kirkwood Road, was placed on five years of community control on a charge of attempted illegal cultivation of marijuana. He was also fined $200.

William J. Conley, 38, 516 Oak St., was placed on a $7,500 bond on a charge of possession of criminal tools.
