Sheriff’s log

TUESDAY

-12:37 p.m.: property damage crash. Deputies were dispatched to the 9000 block of state Route 29 in Franklin Township on the report of a property damage crash.

-11:34 a.m.: lines down. Deputies responded to the 8000 block of state Route 274 in Van Buren Township on the report of a line down.

-1:25 a.m.: property damage crash. Deputies were dispatched to the 12500 block of Meranda Road in Franklin Township on the report a Toyota Camry hit a pole.

MONDAY

-11:21 p.m.: suspicious person. Deputies were dispatched to 4129 Children’s Home Road in Orange Township on the report someone was in the driveway.

-7:01 p.m.: K9 narcotics search. Deputies were dispatched to mile-marker 90 on Interstate 75 for a K9 narcotics search.

-2:36 p.m.: theft. Deputies responded to the report of a theft from a vehicle at Sidney High School on Campbell Road.

-9:10 a.m.: vehicle in ditch. Deputies were dispatched to Meranda Road and state Route 65 on the report of a vehicle in a ditch on the east side of the intersection.

-7:20 a.m.: property damage crash. Deputies were dispatched to Riverside Drive and Port Jefferson Road in Clinton Township on the report a vehicle slid off of the road.

-5:56 a.m.: investigative complaint. Deputies investigated a complaint of juveniles driving a golf cart without lights within the Village of Lockington in Washington Township.

SUNDAY

-6:41 p.m.: shooting. Deputies were dispatched to 21777 Dingman Slagle Road in Perry Township on the report someone shot toward the residence as they drove by.

-4:17 p.m.: vandalism. Deputies were dispatched to 16205 Sharp Road in Salem Township on the report of a damaged canoe.

4:03 p.m.: property damage crash. Deputies were dispatched to Kuther Road and Millcreek Road in Clinton Township on the report a property damage crash.

-11:57 a.m.: theft. Deputies were dispatched to 18950 Kettlersville Road in Van Buren Township on the report of the theft of a gun from the residence.

-8:48 a.m.: property damage crash. Deputies were dispatched to the 5000 block of Wells Road in McLean Township on the report a vehicle hit a pole.

-1:24 a.m.: tree down. Deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of Washington Township on the report of a tree down.

SATURDAY

-8:42 p.m.: investigative complaint. Deputies were dispatched to state Route 47 and Baker Road in Salem Township on the report of a loud boom in the area.

-7:26 p.m.: trespassing. Deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of Fair Road in Washington Township on the report a four-wheeler was trespassing in the caller’s field.

Village log

MONDAY

-1:58 p.m.: suspicious person. Botkins Police were dispatched to Only Believe Ministries on Botkins Road in Dinsmore Township on the report of a suspicious person.

SUNDAY

-10:19 p.m.: investigative complaint. Jackson Center Police investigated the report of a flashing light on top of the Jackson Center Post Office.

Crashes

Carl T. Lynch, 28, of 18133 Herring Road, Sidney, was transported to Wilson Health by Perry Port Salem Rescue following a one-vehicle crash Saturday at 2:57 p.m.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Lynch was traveling east in the 17000 block of Herring Road. He had just exited a slight curve in the roadway, when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road. The vehicle went down an embankment and struck a tree.

Lynch told deputies he heard a pop come from the front of his vehicle just prior to it leaving the roadway. The 2006 Chevrolet Equinox was disabled in the crash and towed from the scene.

• No one was cited following a crash on Thursday at 6:29 p.m.

Mary Counts, 66, of Piqua, was traveling southbound on Broad Street and was turning onto Canal Street when she struck the eastbound vehicle driven by Clarence Hughes, 67, 18820 State Route 47, on Canal Street.

According to the report from the Sheriff’s Office, Counts was traveling over the center of the roadway, on Canal Street, which is a narrow road with no painted center lines.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

Fire, rescue

TUESDAY

-10:13 a.m.: fire. Lockington Fire Department responded to the 9000 block of Fessler Buxton Road in Washington Township on the report of smoke coming from under the bridge.

MONDAY

-10:29 p.m.: fire. Botkins Fire Department responded to mile-marker 108 on I-75 south on the report of a truck fire.

-5:15 p.m.: crash with injuries. Anna Rescue, Botkins Fire Department and Deputies responded to Lock Two Road and Staley Road on the report of a two-vehicle crash.

-4:49 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue responded to the 17000 block of Sidney Freyburg Road in Dinsmore Township.

-10 a.m.: medical. Houston Rescue responded to the 10700 block of Millcreek Road in Washington Township.

SUNDAY

-5:09 p.m.: medical. Anna Rescue responded to the 300 block of South Pike Street in Franklin Township.

-6:16 a.m.: medical. Anna Rescue and Van Buren Township Fire Department responded to the 9500 block of Amsterdam Road in Van Buren Township.

SATURDAY

-7:25 p.m.: fire. Anna and Lockington Fire Departments responded to 522 N. Main Ave. in Clinton Township for mutual aid on the report of smoke in the residence.

-4:14 p.m.: medical. Houston Rescue responded to the 5600 block of Patterson Halpin Road in Turtle Creek Township.
