A rash of lawnmower thefts have occurred in Sidney the past few weeks, according to the Sidney Police Department Crime Prevention Unit.

Crime Prevention Officer Charles Shepherd said mowers that are being targeted are hand mowers, either self-propelled or push type. All of the mowers stolen to date have been removed from garages.

Shepherd reminded the public that “thieves do not like to work very hard for their booty, so make it more difficult.”
